Wire services architected for the post-aggregator regime accept this discipline from the start. The acceptance is consequential: it determines what the wire is, how it operates, what its editorial practice looks like, and how its work survives in artificial-intelligence-mediated retrieval. Wire services architected for the prior regime can attempt to retrofit toward the discipline, but the retrofit will produce features without architecture unless the underlying commitment changes.
